An Overview on H.O.P.E. and How Your Purchase Will Bring Someone the Hope They Desperately Need:

All products in the H.O.P.E. family, from jewelry and pillowcases to pottery and paintings, are handmade locally with responsible materials. When possible, I purchase supplies from fellow artisans and up-cycle vintage jewelry when selecting "eggs" for each nest.

I enjoy creating useful items of beauty and providing unique gifts for you to share with your loved ones. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful outdoors and you'll see that reflected in the patterns and items I design.

My past career was based in Neurological Brain Scans. The Brain: how it works, how we can help it when there is an injury or condition, and caring for the people affected by a brain that isn't performing as hoped, has been part of my life for years - both as a career and a patient.

As a life-long athlete I've sustained a number of head injuries and have seen how it can affect both the individual and those around them. Hope is something that everyone, especially someone who is struggling to discover their "new normal", needs.

The Concussion Legacy Foundation is a group dedicated to Research, Studies and Education. They desire to help the individual, engage communities and inspire change.

Check out their mission statement:
"Concussions can derail a life. The Concussion Legacy Foundation believes we all have a responsibility to ensure athletes can reach their full potential on and off the field. We are committed to protecting athletes and families through research, policy, and education."

There are a few ways that every one of us can help. Half of each purchase here and on the JoyFilled Treasures (a division of H.O.P.E.) Etsy site, will benefit those affected by head injuries.

Another way is to directly donate or participate in research. Whether you have had an injury or not, you can further the understanding of: Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy; Effects of video gaming on concussion patients; Efficacy of a simple eye exam in diagnosing concussions; Risk Factors for Concussions and CTE; and other ongoing studies. I've included the link below for you to explore more.

Thank you for joining me in spreading beauty and hope.
